Disaster Strikes!
Okay, maybe I'm overstating it. There I was, in my hotel room in New Orleans, which is busy rebuilding itself after Hurricane Katrina swept through and killed 1,577 people in Louisiana alone, and I realised I had packed three knitting projects, all the associated needles and paraphernalia, and one crochet project, but no crochet hook. What to Knit in New Orleans?
Three days left before I head to the Big Easy (I think that's the right nickname, but don't hold me to it), and all I can think about is "will the yarn I ordered online get here on time?" Because if it doesn't, I'm going to have to pack different projects. In fact, I really should pack different projects regardless, because the yarn I ordered is for my Sophie's Universe blanket (because I ran out (oops) of a necessary colour), and as I'm almost at Round 100 this is a massive


Me Knit Pretty Some Day
When I'm bored (which isn't often--if I'm up and about, I could just walk, or walk while listening to an audiobook, or read, or watch television, or write a script for my upcoming musical, or practice singing, or knit), it probably means I'm at my computer, waiting for some procedure to finish which takes a minute or two ... not enough time to want to break out the knitting, go for a walk, read a book, etc., so in practice I probably head to Ravelry and read the latest Forum


The Knit City Nitty Gritty
On the weekend it was another fiber event, Vancouver's Knit City, and my, how it's grown. When I first went 2 years ago it was about half the building, last year it was 3/4, and (I should have been able to predict this, I'm a data scientist in real life) this year it was full. They even moved the entrance to the opposite side from the prior years entrance, which was my first hint that perhaps the entire building was in play. I have a terrible photo below which entirely fail
